Spring is in the air! And with the warmer weather and blooming flowers and trees comes something we may not look forward to: spring cleaning. Green Dog Pet Products wants to make sure your pet has the healthiest springtime possible.
New Beginnings and Your Pet
And we mean that both literally and figuratively! After being holed up all winter long, spring is a great season to purge items you no longer need, give the house a good cleaning, and reevaluate your daily routine. It is kind of like a New Years resolution- Spring is the season where things begin anew.
As pet owners, literal spring cleaning may be a little more rigorous for you than for those who don’t have any animals. Besides making your home more pleasant to be in, cleaning your home can help eliminate allergens in the home. Dust bothers cats and dogs just as much as it does people, so keeping things clean and dust-free can make life easier for the entire family.
Time for a New Routine With Your Dog
Spring is also a time to assess your daily routine with your pet and see if it needs work. Is your dog or cat getting enough playtime? Dogs need at least 30-60 minutes a day of play and cats need at least 20. Playtime is more than just fun; it is vitally important for both their mental and physical wellbeing.
Speaking of play, when was the last time you went through your pets’ toybox? Check their toys for any damage that could be harmful, such as loose stuffing or sharp edges, and toss any that are no longer safe. This is especially important for dogs, as they tend to destroy toys much quicker than cats. While you’re at it, consider adding a few new toys to the rotation. Both cats and dogs love new toys to explore, chew on, and play with.
Always Include Dental Hygiene in Your Pet's Wellness Plan
Last but not least, you know we’re obligated to remind you that a dental hygiene routine is important for your pet’s health! If you’ve been slacking, tis’ the season to try and remember to brush your pet’s teeth at least once a week. Remember that incorporating our all natural dental sprays and food toppers is an easy and effective way to help maintain your pet’s oral hygiene.
